Supporting our members throughout COVID-19

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, we made a commitment that we would return any unintended claims savings back to our members.

As a member owned, not for profit health fund, we put our members before profits.

June 2022 - We are returning $6 million to our members who hold Hospital Cover

Members who held a financial hospital policy with us on 31 December 2021 for a minimum of three months will be receiving a payment from us between $178.60 and $815.67. Payment is based on level of cover and policy type.

Payments will be processed by the end of June and members can expect this payment paid directly into their nominated bank account with us or by cheque.

April 2022 – Premium increase on hold for six months

We made the decision to defer the 1 April 2022 premium increase until 1 October 2022, continuing our support to members through the COVID-19 pandemic.

January 2022 – Rolled over unused extras benefits from 2021 to 2022.

We understand that COVID-19 restrictions may have prevented our members from making full use of their extras benefits in 2021. To ensure our members receive their full value from their extras cover, we decided to roll over unused extras benefits from 2021 to 2022. This means between 1 January and 31 December 2022 you will be able to claim your 2022 extras benefit limits plus any eligible unused extras benefit limits you may have from 2021.

To be eligible to have your extras benefit limits rolled over, you need to have:

  • Held a Mildura Health Fund extras product on 31 December 2021.
  • Unclaimed eligible extras benefit limits from the 2021 calendar year.
  • Served all applicable extras waiting periods as at 31 December 2021.
April 2020 – Premium Increase on hold for six months

We made the decision to defer the 1 April 2020 premium increase until 1 October 2020, continuing our support to members through the COVID-19 pandemic.

April 2020 – Introduction of Telehealth Services

To ensure our members continued to have access to quality health care during COVID-19 restrictions, we introduced benefits on Telehealth Services that included psychology, speech pathology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, podiatry and dietician services.

Due to the overall success and member demand for this service, we have committed to continue to provide benefits for approved telehealth services ongoing.
